Angela Bassett reveals the 3 things that she does to maintain her youthful appearance in her sixties

On November 19, 2022, Angela Bassett was present at the 13th Governors Awards ceremony held by the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences. The ceremony took place at Fairmont Century Plaza in Los Angeles, California.

It’s likely that all of us would want to look as wonderful as Angela Bassett does at the age of 64, but the question is, how does she manage to maintain such a toned and radiant appearance? In 2018, the actress, who had just recently been nominated for a second Academy Award for her performance in Black Panther: Wakanda Forever, went on a conversation with presenter Laila Muhammad and revealed some of her deepest, darkest secrets.

In the interview that has previously gone viral video and is presently trending again as a result of this tweet, Bassett chuckles as she states, “Now I have told you what to do, and it won’t work unless I do it—and you do it too.”

Please continue reading if you are prepared to take on the actor’s strategy for maintaining your young appearance and beauty as you grow older.

The first thing that Bassett says in response to the question of how she manages to maintain such a nice appearance is that she has “a good esthetician” who assists her in maintaining a “clean and together” appearance so that she does not have to wear a lot of makeup all the time. “Your face, your canvas, present it to the world, and you’re good,” she says to herself.

Curious about the specific services that an esthetician may provide for you? The majority of the time, they are employed in spas and salons, where they provide non-invasive “cosmetic skin treatments” such as facials, superficial chemical peels, body treatments, and waxing, as stated by very well Health.

The power of a good facial cannot be contested, as proved by Bassett, despite the fact that estheticians are not able to diagnose or treat medical disorders; in order to do so, you will need to consult with a dermatologist.

“It truly is about eating,” she adds in response, “because you can out-eat any exercise routine.” Having said that she is of the opinion that it is essential to consume clean food “at least 80, 85 percent of the time,” she recommends that individuals “follow a plan—not one that is not too restrictive.”

Ezekiel bread, which is sprouted, is the only exception to her regimen, which prohibits the consumption of bread and completely excludes dairy products.

It is also possible that Bassett’s diet is a little bit complicated, particularly if you have a tendency to forget what day of the week it is. The next two days are all about protein (she says Tuesday and Wednesday in the tape, but we assume she meant Wednesday and Thursday). On Monday and Tuesday, she consumes carbohydrates and fruit. The following two days are all about protein.

However, vegetables are always permitted to be consumed. She emphasizes, “Veggies every day,” as her mantra.

Bassett claims that she completely abstains from consuming any fat in her diet on four days of the week. “And then the last three days, I flood it with fat—good fat,” she continues, mentioning coconut oil, salmon, almonds, almond butter, olive oil, and walnut oil as examples of fats that are on her list of foods that are acceptable.

After she has laid out her diet plan, she looks at it and says, “Is that good?”

“Yes, you gave me the formula!” Allah responds to this.

Make sure you are prepared for a successful exercise.

It goes without saying that you can’t get Bassett’s jaw-droppingly toned form without breaking a sweat at the athletic facility. When it comes to maintaining her exercise routine, what is her secret? Spending money on a trainer.

“I gotta pay so I will show up, cause I don’t wanna waste my money,” she says in detail. “I’ve gotta be accountable, and somebody’s there waiting for me, because I know myself, and I will talk myself out of going.”

According to Bassett, she places a high priority on working out first thing in the morning because she believes that her “workout quotient will diminish as the day goes on.” She goes on to explain that her exercise routine consists of strength training on the days that she consumes protein and cardio on the days that she consumes carbohydrates. She claims that on days when she is consuming a lot of fat, “it’s about deep breathing, a massage, and yoga,” but then she stops herself and admits, “I don’t do yoga, I go for the massage.”
